The Victoria Gallery, endowed by the John and Myriam Wylie Foundation, will be a new world-class exhibition space for Victoria.
The Victoria Gallery will showcase the best of the Library’s collection to tell the stories of this state.
Using cutting-edge technology, the international-standard gallery will offer an immersive and interactive experience for visitors.
Exhibiting items from the Library’s vast collection, as well as from other institutions and private collections, in a contemporary way, Victoria Gallery will rejuvenate a grand heritage space, originally opened in 1892 and currently closed to the public.
The 500-square-metre gallery will be accessible through the Russell Street Welcome Zone and a new universally accessible La Trobe Street entrance.
Made possible by an $8 million gift from the John and Myriam Wylie Foundation, this new world-class gallery will enable the Library to put the best of Victoria’s great treasures on public display.
